The applications were opposed by British Railways, Ribble Motor Servic s, Ltd., W. C. Standerwick, Ltd., Robinson and Sons (Great Harwoo Ltd., and Ribblesdale Coachways, Lid.

Evidence was given by directors fro all the applicant companies, many f whom had already been linking cert n destinations. They had thought that t is was done by most coach operators, ad said it gave them greater flexibility.

Alternative Routes Sought

Ribblesdale, Robinsons, Ribble an W. C. Standerwick claimed that th should have similar facilities to the p viously mentioned operators. Thy wanted alternative routes for excursio s to Windermere and Bowness, Silverda e and Arnside, Grange, Llandudno, Colw n Bay, Rhyl and Llangollen, and th y wanted to increase the number f occasions when they were allowed to o to Manchester, Preston and Burnley fir theatres, cipemas and football match s. The applications were opposed by Briti h Railways.

The Chairman, Mr. F. Williams° said the Commissioners would reser e decision on the various destinations to e linked and on the extra facilities fir football matches and theatres.

The Commissioners granted the linki of the catchment areas.
