• Dutch opposition to the German truck tax, due to come into force in July, has spread to include a boycott of Germanmade vehicles.
Operators feel that there has been insufficient action by the Dutch road haulage operators' association NOB and several orders for new German-built vehicles are reported to have been cancelled.
Daimler-Benz has taken space in the Dutch transport press to dissociate itself from the German government measures: 170 operators have declared their readiness to support a boycott.
