• Ford has launched an Executive minibus version of the Transit. Its nine high-backed seats are fitted with adjustable head restraints and seatbelts; the rear seats have armrests and map pockets.
Other luxury features include a four-speaker radio-cassette, tinted windows, cloth trim, full carpeting, noise insulation, metallic paintwork, stepwell lighting and six interior lights. The Executive comes with Ford's 2.5-litre direct-injection diesel engine for 215,925, or the 2.0-litre OHC petrol engine for £14,275; the standard gearbox in both cases is the MT75 five-speed manual with a fourspeed auto box as an option. Among its 37 basic Transit variants, Ford now offers 8,9,12 and 15-seat mini buses, with 13 and 17-seat crew buses.
