• About 10 bodyshop employees are killed and 340 are seriously injured every year, says ROSPA. And estimates that there are another 12,000 workplace injuries which keep employees off work for three or more days.
ROSPA sees the bodyshop as a particularly dangerous working environment because unsafe methods or equipment are often used, especially by tack-street' business.
ROSPA will stage live demonstrations of crash repairs at the International Safety and Health Exhibition at the NEC on 22-24 May. Frames will be straightened and panels repaired before being sprayed in a low-cost booth which meets the COSHH standard.
