Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Roadlink International. the UK concessionaire for Beral friction material, is issuing its distributors with a brake lining wear pattern analysis chart. The A3 full-colour chart is claimed to be the first of its kind in the UK.

The company will send out over 500 charts to motor factors around the UK. David Segley, managing director of Roadlink, says: "When a problem occurs in the braking system it is often easiest to identify it by examining the linings."

The chart will not he available to operators but Segley says that it is most useful at the factors' premises where expert staff can advise operators on any defects in the braking system.
