COMMERCIALS WELCOME • Motorway service area operator Welcome Break reckons that it is becoming more welcoming to truck and coach drivers.

The drivers-only facilities at Leicester Forest East on the M1 are being upgraded so that a rest area with phones, a television and comfortable seating will be available. This is due to open in late May.

There is also a Welcome Break Truck and Coach Drivers Club (free to join) that runs a free draw every month (until October) with five prizes of 2100. It also entitles drivers to a 50p voucher for food or drink when buying 90 litres (20 gallons) of diesel.

Welcome Break points out that its 23 overnight parking charge includes a 21 breakfast voucher. Service Areas operated by Welcome Break are Leicester Forest East, Membury, Michael Wood, Hartshead Moor and Ross Spur.
