A SITTINGBOURNE demolition contractor had his fleet of three tippers curtailed by the deletion of one vehicle for 21 days when he appeared before South Eastern deputy LA, Mr G. Mercer, at Maidstone last week. In addition, his one vehicle margin was removed. R. H. Daynes, the demolition contractor, had been visited in January by the vehicle examiner who hac issued two delayed GV9s tc one of his vehicles.

The deputy LA blamed a 5,000-mile gap between servicing and the tough nature of the work for the condition of the vehicle and accepted Daynes' arrangement to have each vehicle serviced by Sparshatts, of Sittingbourne every month.
