In Glasgow on Tuesday, the founder chairman, Mr Andrew Lewis, said the Government was not matching the enormous investment which industry was making in Scotland. Without adequate spending on roads and other infrastructure, development would be slowed and many of the benefits would be lost.

Priorities were roads to link central Scotland. the oil terminals and the rest of Britain; completion of the Central Clydeside urban road system; and construction of a southern by-pass for Edinburgh.

The organization has produced a 15-page report — "Transport: a plan for Scotland" — which it is sending to Scottish MPs, local authorities, local .organizations and businessmen.
