Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A S a result of the closure of railway

branch lines in France, it has become necessary not only to substitute buses and lorries for discontinued rail passenger and goods services but also mobile post office sorting vehicles, to take the place of railway postal iOrtine coaches.

The type illustrated on this page is an adaptation of the standard Renault R4231 coach. Inside it has a loading platform at the front, a large cupboard, a table for opening bags and five sorting benches. At the rear there is a platform on which the bags may be stacked. The roof and sides are insulated, and fluorescent lighting is installed, together with a heater.

Berliet are constructing another larger outfit based on a semi-trailer. If these roadsorting vehicles prove successful in the experimental stage, which seems likely, many more will be ordered by the French post office.
