Three sizes are marketed, these having a capacity of a pint, two pints and three pints respectively, their prices being £1 15s., £2 15s. and :13 10s.; refills cost 4s., 7s. and 10s.
The fluid employed in these extinguishers is carbon-tetra-chloride, which can be used without danger to the operative in the case of electrical fires, when the application of water might prove to be fatal. Another use for which the fluid has a particular value is in connection with petrol and oil fires, for it exerts an effective blanketing action.
The extinguishing material is ejected from the brass container by means of a gunmetal pump with bronze ball valves, the handle being at one end of the device and the nozzle at the other. A bracket is included in the price.
Extinguishers having chromium
plated containers can also be supplied at a cost a little greater than in brass.
