• Drivers in Berkshire are warned to expect delays during March on the A34 Sandleford Link, Newbury, while central reserve safety fences are renewed. Traffic on the dual carriageway will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
The renewal of 1.5km of safety fence is part of a national scheme to provide fencing where it does not exist on dual carriageway trunk roads and is needed, and to repair existing fences where necessary.
Weather permitting, work will start on 7 March and should last about four weeks. Delays may occur if there is a breakdown or accident, says the Department of Transport.
