• A new bus garage has been built for recently-privatised Hastings and District Transport at Rye.
The garage is part of a development by Ward Holdings, in association with British Rail, on land adjoining Rye railway station.
The development indudes a coach park, a car park anti a new supermarket and covers the land nearest to the town centre, part of which was occupied by the old bus garage and enquiry office.
The new garage has capacity for six full-sized buses. Facilities include a single pit and engine hoist, exhaust emmission equipment and a fuel pump.
