Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Battle of Brighton, over who will run this year's coach rally in the town, is over. Graham Yandell of Coaching Journal and Bus Review has withdrawn his bid to stage a new event in Brighton called the "international" coach rally (CM 14-20 January).

Despite the goodwill and income he will lose, says Yandell, confusion in the bus industry over which rally to support meant that his rally was con fronted with "a real prospect of failing to meet expectations".

Plans for a single event to go ahead as normal on 9 and 10 April are now being discussed with Brighton Corporation, and Commercial Moto,'s PSV editor Noel Miller — who is helping to organise the rally — reports that all of the usual events are planned, including a concours d'elegance, a drivers' competition and a small trade exhibition.
