Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first cab data terminal costing less than £1,000 has been launched by High Wycombe-based Trend Telecommunications.

The all-British Trend E-Note unit can be linked to a cellular radio, a Band 3 radio or a private radio to provide vehicle users with a means of receiving and transmitting written information.

Drivers can input details of their most recent delivery or sale and send them to base. They can also receive instructions on routes and extra deliveries, or any other information which is better sent in printed form.

Communications need not be limited to those between base and the cab. The driver could, for example, send printed information to his next destination warning of any delays.

E-Note can also be programmed to print forms, so delivery drivers could produce invoices at the point of delivery and then send details direct to base. In addition, the driver can talk over the radio and transmit data at the same time.

The new system will be available from April: for more details contact Trend Telecommunications on (06295) 24977.
