Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

In reply to Mr Simmond's letter (CM January 20), regarding problems concerning Michelin's "Performance Package, there is a simple answer.

Investigations have revealed that the type of operation run by Mr Simmonds requires a predominance of remoulded tyres. The "poorsupply quoted by him was due solely to the few casings returned by him for Remix Process. The Performance Package deals only with Michelin casings and, therefore, it is necessary for us to have a supply of acceptable casings from operators to, in turn, supply Remix.

Another influence is the demand by independent retreaders for the high quality Michelin casing.

Therefore, our advice to users who wish to take advantage of the Performance Package is to return their Michelin casings after their first tread regroove and subject to verification (over 80 per cent acceptance rate nationally) Remix can be made available to them.
