Birkenhead Corporation Cleansing Committee have recommended that the original order placed with Shclvokc and Drewry, Ltd., for the supply of two fore and aft tipping vehicles, be amended by the substitution of two of the new type Pakamimic refuse collection vehicles, at an additional cost of £1,983 per vehicle; and it is proposed that three bulk-loading refuse collection vehicles and a gully machine on order from this Ban should he Stied with an improved type of chassis at an additional cost of £50 per vehicle. Chelmsford Water Committee report that p: vision is to be made in the estimates for 1961for the purchase of a light van at an estimal cost of £350.
