THE Dragon, the 84th model produced by the De Havilland works since it commenced aircraft production in 1908, has been designed to combine low horse-power, low first cost, low running and maintenance costs, with a creditable performance and carrying capacity. For flights without luggage 10 passengers can be carried, whilst in a normal service provision is made for six. The quick "unstick," which is afforded by the low wing loading, also the rapid climb, are useful for the commercial operator. A high degree of comfort is provided, whilst the design includes every modern improvement, producing a safe and easily maintained machine.
The Fox Moth, asmaller machine, has outstanding commercial potentialities. The pilot's cockpit is behind the two-three-passenger cabin, which, for short flights, will accommodate four. Many of the components are interchangeable with those of other models, cheapening maintenance on a fleet of assorted sizes. There is a speed model which cruises at over 100 m.p.h.
The PIISS Moth is a cabin monoplane, the saloon accommodating the pilot and two passengers, and has a rather higher performance than the Fox Moth. It is a most convenient machine for feeder services, with its transparent roof, unrestricted vision and ease of conversation.
The Gipsy engines have proved their reliability in many famous flights, and there are service agents in more than 30 countries.
