Having been on all the major hauliers' demonstrations in the past 14 months. I feel TransAction has done exceptionally well in getting the message across to the public at large.

That said, we have a much longer journey ahead of us in order not only to stop the injustice to our industry but to reverse it.

Personally, I feel our trump card is a national stoppage for, say, a week.

Many people say you will never get it, but who has attempted it? Talking about it in passing is hypothetical. If it were organised it would get massive support. I have spoken to and read of many who would support such action.

A stoppage would have to be organised with military precision and professionalism, allowing things such as urgent medical supplies and perishable goods that are already in the system to move.

Interested parties could set up a joint committee to oversee the organisation of any action. using volunteers such as myself in the regions to help coordinate a databank of all participants. Let's get on with it, or be forever trodden on. Duncan Maclean, Driver and vehicle cleaning contractor, Abingdon. Oxfordshire.
