Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Renault is considering a hatchback Clio van for the UK. The Clio is already available as a van in lefthand-drive. Renault has not offered a hatchback van since the Renault 5 van was dropped. The 5-derived Extra high-cube van will continue for another two to three years.

VWs reduced

• Volkswagen has reduced dealer margins across its Transporter, Caravelle and LT ranges, cutting retail prices by about 4%; the Transporter now starts at £9,640 (ex-VAT). The reductions coincide with the launch of the facelifted LT IliTorq (page 22).

Renault centres

• Renault is hoping to increase its Van Centre numbers to 75 this year from the 50 re-established since the company closed all the centres at the end of last year. Van Centres must now have a dedicated LCV sales person and servicing facilities for all Renault vans.

Cool offer

• Fiat has introduced a "cash-back" deal for food traders who buy refrigerated versions of its commercial vehicles. Until 30 June there will be a £400 rebate on refrigerated Ducat° panel vans or chassis-cabs and £250 on Fiorino car-derived vans.

Crown for Merc

• Crown Coachworks of Heckmondwike has won Mercedes' approval as an official supplier of loadspace liners and bulkheads for its van range. Crown also manufactures plywood liner kits for the Transit and other light commercials.

Extra year • A two-year unlimited mileage guarantee (with the Citroen Assist roadside recovery service) is now standard on Citroen light commercials, rather than the 12 months mentioned in our recent C25D test (CM 15-21 April)— and stated in Citroen's own brochure.
