• Scania will launch a sixwheeler rigid chassis at the Institute of Waste Management Show in Torbay later this month. The P93 ML 6x2/4 RA 250 has a twin-steer centre-lift axle and is designed for municipal use: two examples will be on display at Torbay.
Tyre life
• Henley Transport has increased its tyre life from 18 to 30 months since fitting SAF self-steering axles to 20 of its tri-axle refrigerated semi-trailers. According to IMS, SAF's sole UK distributor, some users have trebled the tyre life of a fixed axle.
