IN THIS year's CM artics and trailers special number of June 17 we will be publishing a full road test report on a Sgadon Atkinson 400 series powered by a Rolls-Royce 265L engine.
This particular power unit, which is currently attracting al great deal of interest from operators throughout Britain has been modified to produce its maximum power output at 1,900 rpm for optimum fuel consumption. This theory was borne out of our test around the familar CM Scottish operational trial route when the Seddon Atkinson recorded an excellent overall fuel consumption figure of 38.5 lit./100km (7.3mpg).
