In an interview last week vith "Care on the Road" xlitor, Ken Rogers, he contemned European Assembly Transport Committee chairnan John Evans, MP for Owtown, for "not knowing vhat he was talking about."
"He spent three-quarters of in hour trying to persuade us o take tachos, and he made an tbsolute goddam mess of it — lute frankly he didn't know vhat he was talking about."
"All this load of muck and ripe — thinking that all of this s going to do any good — tbout rules and regulations Ind about tachos in this :ountry — well, I haven't vally got the time to waste on t," Mr Law said.
"You can take it from me here'll be no tachos in cornnercial vehicles accepted by he Transport and General Workers Union — ever!"
He said efforts were being nade to convince the union hat tacho makers stand to ose if the instrument is not ntroduced.
And he rejected any idea hat the tacho might help stop ,ome heavy vehicle accidents. 'You'll still have an accident – the tacho won't stop an iccident," he said.
