Group in Scotland
PREMISES in Fife and Clackmannan, as.well as 93 lorries and 19 trailers, have been taken over this week from British Road Services by Mr. W. S. Dick, of Glasgow. It is estimated that the purchase has cost at least £300,000.
The depots are based at Dunfermline (two), AIloa and Leven.
Mr. Dick will almost certainly transfer the entire purchase to London Scottish Transport. Ltd., also of Glasgow, who already run some 61 lorries and 14 trailers on spec.ial A licences. In all, the company now operate more than 300 vehicles.
NORTHERN AREA
Mr. E. Waters, 13 Woodleigh Road, Monkscaton, has assigned one vehicle (2 tons 18 cwt.) to B. and M. fransport (Northern), Ltd., 125 Clayton Street, Newcastle upon Tyne; one (3 tons). to Mr. M. L. Stamper, Rose Bank, Cu!gala', Penrith;one (3 tons 4 cwt.) to Halley Coaches (Bat'agate), Ltd., Bathgate; and one (2 tons 17 cwt.) to Mr. P. McAllister, Castle Douglas.
Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford, Manchester, 5, have made over one vehicle (8 tons 16 cwt.) to Mr. G. H. Gowland, Poplars, Long Bank, BirtIcy.
NORTH-WEST Seven vehicles, including two articulated outfits (231 tons) based in Liverpool have been taken over by Mr. R. G. Bassett, Grayswood, Tittensor, Stoke-on-Trent.
Mr. W. .J. F. Tillyard, Oakdale Road, Wallasey, has assigned a lorry and a trailer (8 tons) to Messrs. Reeves Transport, of the same address.
WEST MIDLANDS Mr. A. G. Taylor, 113 Hylton Road, Worcester, has bought five vehicles (6 tons 1 cwt.). F6ur of these (4 tons 14 cwt.) were assigned by Mr. F. Taylor, Henwick Mill, Lower Broadheath, Worcester. Mr. F. Taylor has also assigned Iwo vehicles (9 tons), including an articulated outfit, to Taylor's Transport and Coach Services, of the same address.
Two lorries (9 tons) have been bought by . Mr. G. Webb, Stir., Regent Garage, Tunstall. One (5 tons) has gone to Molineaux Haulage Co., Ltd., and the other (4 tons) to Webb Bros. (Tunstall), Ltd., Calver Street, Tunstall. One-vehicle assignments have been made as follows: Mr. L Gleave, Holly Bank, Audlem, near Crewe, to Mr. N. V. Allman, The Laurels, Shebdon, Stafford (61 tons); J. Hart and Sons, Ltd., Woodhouse Garage, Biddulph, to A. and H. Davey (Roadways), Ltd., Vernon Road. Stoke-onTrent (71tons); Mr. N. LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES Percy D. Slceman, Ltd., 91 Cowley Road, Uxbridge, Middx, have bought another eight vehicles (27 tons 8 cwt.). They have assigned one (4 tons) to Messrs. Rudgley Bros., 14 St. George's Road, Dagenham, Essex.
Five vehicles (20 tons 14 cwt.) and live trailers based in London have been made over to F. W. Williams (Transport), Ltd., Ramnoth Road, Wisbech, Cambs, by Dawbarns, Ltd., of the same address.
