EINES of £10 on each of five charges I of falling to comply smith the conditions of his contract-A licence were imposed upon Robert William Nelson, Trafalgar Garage, Arnside, Westmorland, at Milnthorpe, last week.
Nelson was stated to have several vehicles operating under contract-A licences to local quarries, and to have used two which were temporarily idle to cope with work for another customer, the Cape Asbestos Co., Ltd., Kentmcre. For failing to produce records of the use of the lorries, Nelson was also lined a further £1 on each of four charges, with £1 Is. costs and ES 5s. advocate's fee. • Defendant pleaded guilty, and it was stated that he had yielded to a temporary temptation in the interests of his customers.
B.EA. BUILD GARAGE AT LONDON AIRPORT
VENTUALLY to be used as a vehicle garage for the fleet of British European Airways, a twin-span tubular structure, 55 ft. 8 in. wide, 120 ft. long and 14 ft. 6 in. to the eaves, has been constructed at• London Airport. The building was erected with Unimer components and has large shutter-type doors.
At the moment, the building is being used for handling cargo, and has a floor area of 6.600 sq. ft., divided into dispatch and receiving areas. The amount of cargo passing through is 230 tons a week. The Maidstone office of the British Wagon Co.. Ltd., moves on Monday to 6-8 Mill Street.

As an experiment, a one-m• an bus was put into service in Blackpool last week. Vehicles of this type were operated in the town from 1921-26.
Plans for a new £250,000 bus depot have been approved by Stockton Town Council and ate to be submitted to the Ministry of Transport for approval.
A party of Norwegian drivers and officials is visiting London this week to study the city's traffic problems. The visit was arranged by the Royal Automobile Club.

A large new depot is to be built at Kingsway, East Dundee, by S.P.D., Ltd. It will be arranged for working by fork-lift trucks and pallets and have an unloading capacity of one ton a minute. Six 5.l-ton delivery vehicles will operate from the depot.
