NAMES of officers for 1955-56 of the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association have been announced. Mr. F. Broomfield, Barton Transport, Ltd., is the national chairman. The vicechairmen are Mr. F. J. Speight, Geo. Ewer and Co., Ltd., Mr. A. E. Brewer, Brewer's Motor Services, Ltd., Mr. T. Hoyle, Messrs. T. Hoyle and Son, and Mr. H. W. B. Richards, Salt:pia Saloon Coaches, Ltd. Mr. S. D. Giddy, Surrey Motors, Ltd., is honorary treasurer.
Chairmen of areas are as follows: London and Home Counties, Mr. S. H. Waters, United Service Transport Co., Ltd.; Western, Mr. •G. I. Miller; South Wales, Mr. Brewer; West Midland, Mr. Richards; East Midland, Mr. L. W. Evans: Northern, Mr. W. Emmerson: North Western, MT. F. Brazendale; Scottish, Mr. W. Dodds; Yorkshire, Mr. T. Hoyle.
DAIMLER SPARES-SUPPLY ARRANGEMENTS FROM July 31, stores facilities at the Manchester bus depot of Transport Vehicles (Daimler), Ltd_, will be enlarged to carry stocks of spares for Daimler buses, previously held at the Leeds depot. An express delivery service for spare parts will be inaugurated from Manchester, where the address of the depot is Transport Vehicles (Daimler), Ltd., Wilmslow Road, Manchester, 14.
These steps, made necessary by the expiration of the lease at Leeds, are temporary measures only until a new Daimler depot is built in Leeds.
OBITUARY
WE regret to record the death of MR. ALFRED REGINALD HARTWELL the founder of Hartwells Garages, Ltd., Oxford. He was 80.
