The West Ham Tramways Committee recommend a reconstruction of certain tramway tracks in the district at an estimated cost of £35,583, and purchase of rolling stock at a. further cost of £20,500.
The borough treasurer in a report says that the reconstruction of the permanent way alone, will cost £370,096,• and the estimated cost of all the tramways manager's requirements will total £451,252. He points out that 250 motorbuses, to carry as many passengers as the West Ham cars do could be bought for £196,000 less than the total of the proposals now before the committee,
