Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A 30% slump in demand for truck driving tests claimed its first victim last week when the West Yorkshire HGV Training Centre went into liquidation.

Manchester liquidator Stephen Conn & Co refused to comment on the collapse but confirmed that the creditors agreed to the voluntary liquidation on 24 June. The Birstall-based centre ran five artics and two rigicis but supplemented training income with some haulage work.

Local rivals say its business had been noticeably quiet for some time, in line with a slump in demand for tests since the beginning of this year. "It doesn't surprise me," says Leeds-based instructor Andrew Jackson. "Because a lot of us have been quiet for some time." He says demand for tests last year was exceptional because of the licence changes. "You can get tests whenever you want them now," he says.
