A JOINT company is beii formed by Whitbread Lando and Southern British Road SI vices to handle Whitbrel wholesale distribution Greater London and the Hon Counties.
SBRS managing director Jol Farrant told CM that the ne company, which will take ov on November 1, will initia manage the Whitbread own e count fleet and its seven depo But the new company will opi two distribution depots, one North London, by early 1984.
Mr Farrant explained that ti joint company, in which it is pc sible that SBRS will have marl nally more shares, will result ir less radical change than wou be the case if SBRS were simr to take over Whitbread's fie He said he hoped that all Whitbread's distribution ste will transfer to the new car pany.
The directorate of the ne company will be divided aqua between SBRS and Whitbre. management. No name has y been agreed for the company it is codenamed "XYZ Ltd" present — but a shortlist names has been circulati among the staff and manag ment directly involved, and a c cision is expected soon.
