Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Alan Havard

• Stan Chapman, the Shell-Mex and BP tanker driver who last year went away from Bramcote believing he was national champion—only CO hear next day that the results had been incorrectly scored—is back again.

He qualified for the national finals on September 6 by winning Class D at Grimsby on Sunday. Asked about his chances, by colleagues, he said: "We'll see." It was obviously a popular win among the contestants at Grimsby.

Partly due to the opening of the pea picking season the previous day (which caused last-minute withdrawals), entries were down to 85 this year. This may have been the reason for a fairly late start to the contest, which was not under way (so far as the manoeuvring tests were concerned) until mid-morning.
