Also, could the front and rear axles separately be regarded as the secondary brake as this vehicle has dual air brakes (ie, separate air reservoirs for front and rear axles)?
AYour vehicle will have to be able to provide a total braking efficiency of not less than 45 per cent with the main system and 20 per cent with the "second independent means of operation-.
To meet the secondary-brake requirements, each part of a split system must be able to meet the required standard on its own and the operation of one part must be completely independent of the other from the brake pedal to the actuating lever.
