ANEW Green Line coach route which, unlike existing services, will avoid the centre of London, is to be opened on July I. It will link Gravesend with Windsor, via Bromley and Croydon. London Transport believes that it will fill an important need, in that a series of populous centres will be connected.
Coaches will run every hour every day of the week. Officials will watch
the effect of the new facility carefully. The Gravesend-Windsor single fare will be 6s. lid., and the journey time will be 2 hi. 54 min. It is pointed out that the service will make it convenient for' people in the south-east environs of London to reach the river resorts of Hampton Court and Windsor, and L.T.t. garages at Bromley, ..Croydon, Sutton, Kingston and Staines will be connected on a single route.
