COMMERCIAL DRIVERS' NEW ACCIDENT RESPONSIBILITY

ONJune 25, Lieut.-Col. J. A. A. Pickard, general secretary of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, gave a broadcast. In this he alluded to the fact that now that.. private motoring is to cease, an increasing responsibility is placed upon the drivers of lorries, buses, taxicabs and other business vehicles. The Services have greatly improved in this respect. For example, in May. Service drivers were involved in less than 10 per cent. c) accidents.

An added danger is that so many mothers are now on war work, and in this respect it is important to mention that half of the child walkers killed in May were under five years of age.
