THE ROLE OPERATORS play in the reborn TruckPol will be decided at a meeting organised by the Road Haulage Association later this month.
The truck crime initiative, closed due to funding cuts in March 2012, has been resurrected and will be run and managed by the Association of Chief Police Officers and funded by the National Business Crime Forum (CM 29 November).
It is due to start work this month, staffed by a dedicated police analyst and two civilian workers However, the role and support the industry will play is still unclear, said RHA security manager Chrys Rampley.
