Bob Reed keeps an eye on new truck models and used price trends at CAP Red Book He says: "It might have been better for sales figures if Iveco had introduced its larger 13-litre Cursor engine at first and then worked down the range, as the industry has now become more accustomed to 11 and 12-litre engines having moved on from the 10-litre capacity which was so popular a few years ago.
"The big Cursor engine is still not available in a tractor. The 10-litre engine, rated at 390 and 430hp, is more promising than the eight-litre unit, which has more possibilities at about 32 tonnes.
"The NT technology is good and will be emulated by other manufacturers in the attempt to meet future emission directives. The feedback on reliability of the eight and 10-litre Cursor engines is good so far with some of the higher mileage vehicles having passed the 600,000k mark with very few problems.
