Commercial vehicle production rose by more than 17% to 27,751 in November, compared with 23,657 the same time last year, according to provisional figures from the SMMT and the CSO.
But a survey from the Freight Transport Association is not so encouraging. Over half of the 240 members it questioned expect their HGV fleets to remain static: only 26% plan to expand their fleets and 21% fear they will have to cut back.
