Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I READ your articles every week in Commercial Motor, but I have never read such rubbish as November 29 (p32) regarding the Road Transport Industry Training Board.

This is one body that should never ever have started especially in an industry such as the road transport with all the taxes and levies which we have to pay — RTITB is only another tax or levy.

I have been paying into it since the start very reluctantly, I have trained four drivers at my local hgv driving school and have not received a penny from RTITB. They say my local school is not on their list.

If you want to use one on their list it is at least a six months wait.

All I can hope for is that the RTITB goes under and people in our industry who wish to use it should it ever be restarted should pay into it themselves. I honestly think I speak for 99 per cent of all hauliers.

If a man is keen enough to want to drive he will pay for the tuition himself. It is time people in this country learned to stand on their own feet as we had to do in the past.
