have been asked to compile some comparative costs. I would have thought that a drawbar outfit would consume more fuel than the rigid running alone, yet CM Tables of Operating Costs show "nil" for additional .fuel. Can you explain this?
Though it would appear that adding a drawbar trailer to a rigid vehicle would increase the fuel consumption, experience has shown that this need not necessarily be so. From information supplied by a number of drawbar trailer operators, it is plain that, driven in a reasonable manner, the drawbar outfit can show similar fuel consumption to the solo rigid.
