• An order for a 65 cu.yd. Dumpmaster bulker trailer, the largest refuse compaction transporter being made in Britain, has been placed with Powell Duffryn Engineering Co. Ltd., Cardiff, by S. M. Tidy (Public Works) Ltd., of Brighton. This will be the first 65 cu.yd. model to work in Britain, production at Cardiff having been devoted so far to the export market.
This 39ft. long Dumpmaster is a frameless trailer with a twin-axle rear bogie, having its own power pack to operate the compaction ram; this means the tractive unit can be engaged in other haulage work while the bulker is working.
