• The TRTA has issued a warning about the possible consequences of using the official Ministry of Transport goods vehicle test as a fault-finding service. The association understands from the Ministry that some operators have been submitting vehicles to testing stations to obtain a list of their faults, putting the vehicles right and then resubmitting them.
Warns the TRTA: it is almost certain that failure of vehicles in the test will be recorded by the Ministry in the same way as GV9s and that when operators have to apply for a "quality" licence an operator who has had a large percentage of failures on annual test may find it difficult to persuade the Licensing Authority that his maintenance arrangements are satisfactory.
