Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ATS Euromaster’s Carbon Cutter pilot is being tested on more than 100 tractor units at the Killingholme site of DSV Road, where more than 800 individual tyres are inspected.

DSV UK fleet manager Keith Northen says marrying sound business practice to environmental concerns has never been more important for any road transport business.

“The spiralling cost of diesel means fuel accounts for an increasingly significant percentage of our operating costs and any steps we

can take to improve fuel efficiency means savings to the bottom line, and reduced CO2 emissions – two key business objectives.

“We already operate a robust tyre husbandry policy, but we’re not ruling out the potential for additional savings by increasing the frequency of pressure and alignment checks,” he says. “We want to be at the forefront of any new strategies to save fuel and environmentally improve our fleet, and this has driven our desire to take part in the Carbon Cutter pilot scheme.”
