• Furniture manufacturer Alstons has ordered eight double deck trailers from Cartwrights following a 12month trial.
The City trailers from the Altrincham-based builder feature the TransDeck loading system which forms part of the top deck once it has finished lifting goods.
Eloth decks of the 11.3m trailers have 1.93m ceilings; the underrun bar pulls out to create a step for walk-in use.
Alstons says the extra capacity offered by the City trailers has allowed it to phase out drawbars.
