Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I if you need every last bit of that 10hp/tonne to run your Foden at 44 tonnes, then the Cummins ISM 440 is the one for you. With similar dimensions and weight to the Cat, the ISM

440 produces its power from just 10,8 litres, helped by a variable-output Holset turbocharger.

The Engine Control Module operates an electronically

controlled four-stage wastegate to ensure the optimum level of boost under varying conditions. This feature is unique to the 440. although the 410 shares the engine's other features such as four-valves per cylinder and dual-pulse unit injection, and both are RPC eligible. Cummins' C Brake version of the Jacobs engine brake is optional.

Another option of interest is the SmartGuard passive immobiliser. Fully Integrated into the ECM, and communicating via the Road Relay system, the Thatcham-standard system requires the input of a six-digit number before the engine can be started. It is automatically activated by the ignition being turned off, but a 20-second delay allows a safe restart after

The system is an integral part of the engine's electronics, with no add-on hardware: Cummins claims this makes it resistant to scanning and other electronic deviousness.

Both engines are available in all Alpha tractors. The 410 is routinely available in the 8x4 rigid chassis. but Foden says that if anyone wants a 440 tipper it would be happy to oblige.
