THE Venturer coach body built by Plaxtons (Scarborough), Ltd., has now appeared in a modified Mark III form, suitable for lightweight, as well as heavyweight, underfloor-engined chassis. Both aluminium alloy and hardwoods impregnated with preservatives are incorporated in the structure, The hollow-section cross-bearers, secured on the chassis by steel chairs, have steel

gussets for rigid fixing to the pillars. Full-length aluminium-alloy one-piece floor members directly support the seats.

The existing body profile has been retained, with the distinctive oval front grille and corner flashings. Side-panel joints are covered with slip-on mouldings and decorative mouldings are of a special clip-on design.

Triplex curved lights are fitted to front and rear corners, and there are six sliding-unit opening windows with a fulllength louvre above them. The central entrance has an outside sliding door, and the emergency door is behind the driver.

The roof has a Weathershields Perspex opening ventilator panel at each end, with a fixed Perspex panel between them. The front dome can have either two Perspex panels, or name and destination frames. The destination indicator can, alternatively, be fitted below the waistline.

Interior finish is with polished timber with Formica inlays. The roof is lined with 'plywood, and trimmed with P.V.C. in the centre and crushed velvet at the sides. The side panels can be lined in Plaxide,.Formica or moquette, and the floor is covered by rubber, with linoleum under the seats.

The rear boot has a single-panel. tophinged door with an illuminated name panel above it. Flashing direction indicators are provided, and optional extras include H.M.V. radio and any of five heating systems.
