1"0 suit the latest Austin I--ton and

14-ton forward-control chassis a new range of bodies and cabs has been developed by B. Walker and Son, Ltd., Watford, Herts.

The coachbuilt cab has single-piece roof and backpanel pressings, and a twopiece windscreen and quarter glasses are matched by fulldrop side windows. The entrance steps are fully enclosed by hinged, lockable and dust-proofed doors. The driver's seat is freely adjustable and a generous toolbox is provided. Optional features include a passenger's scat, traffic indicators and hinged quarter lights.

The platform and drop-sided bodies have tough hardwood underframes and rigid steel side sills. The sides and tailboard are fully hinged and detachable, and are reinforced at all critical points. Rear wings and roping hooks are provided, whilst a timber bolster, canvas tilt and hoop-sticks are available as optional extras.

Internally the body is 8 ft. 6 in. long, 6 ft. 2 in. wide and 1 ft. 6 in. deep, whilst the floor is 3 ft. 3 in above the ground. External dimensions of the complete vehicle are: Length, 15 ft.; width, 6 ft. 8 in.; height, 7 ft. 3 in.

An all-steel double-skinned welded pick-up body is also available, with a ribbed floor and low loading line. The capacity is nearly 80 cu. ft, and a bolster, tilt and hoop-sticks are again available as extras. This body is several inches shorter than the timber one, and the floor is only 2 ft. 7 in. above the ground, with side valances extending below this level.

A 505-cu.-ft. pantechniconof welded

rolled-steel channel construction is included in the new Walker range. The sides and roof are panelled in 20g. steel and protected inside by spaced battens, whilst the hardwood floor has steel wheelboxes and axle trap. A Luton extension 4 ft. long by 3 ft, high has a plywood floor on steel bearers.

The steel-panelled tailboard has heavy

chains and quick-release fasteners, with a wooden-lath roller shutter above. Optional features include a low-loading well, rear doors and interior lighting. Internal dimensions are: Length, 9 ft. 9 in.; width, 6 ft. 1 in.; height, 7 ft. 4 in.; floor height, 2 ft. 6 in. The complete vehicle is 15 ft. 7 in.-long by 6 ft. 8 in. wide by 10 ft. high.
