hydraulic shock absorbers are now fitted as standard equipment on Bedford bus and coach chassis with no increase in price. They are available as an optional extra at £11 10s. per set on 3-4-ton and 5-ton goods vehicles. This option will, in due course, be extended to other vehicles in the Bedford range.

The front shock absorbers are bolted direct to the chassis side frame members. There are two different methods of mounting the rear ones. On the passenger chassis they are mounted horizontally on a bracket attached to the chassis side member. With the goods vehicles they are bolted directly to the chassis, after slight modifications have been made.

These modifications are concerned with the drilling of holes, revision of the layout of the brake pipes, together with certain alterations to the axle casing.
