Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SINCE March 31, 1949, the South African Railways and Harbours Administration has added 437 routemiles to its road passenger transport services, exclusive of tourist traffic.

During the period from January to September last year, South Africa imported 444 buses and 11,293 goods vehicles Of the 52,599 motor vehicles of all types, excluding tractors, imported into the Union in the first nine months of 1949, 27,286 came from the U.S.A.. 14,943 from the U.K.. 8,748 from Canada, 1,012 from France, 429 from Italy and 153 from Czechoslovakia.

The South African demand for buses is likely to decline, writes a correspondent. Many small passenger transport operators use American goods chassis on which cheaply made bodies are built locally.
