Pallet Track supports the return of Trans Haul firm

CM COVER STORY

By Chris Tindall PAI LET TRACK MD Nigel Parkes says it will support Trans Haul (Europe) as a member, after the newly formed firm bought the business and assets of ex-member Trans Haul (UK) from administrators.

"Ii-ans Haul (Europe) managing director Nigel Machado says the purchase of the goodwill and assets of Trans Haul (UK) protected more than 50 staff and secured the business's future.

Nigel and Maurice Machado ran Trans Haul (UK), which held two 0-licences for 19 vehicles and 22 trailers; they are also listed as directors of the Trans Haul (Europe) firm.

Nigel Machado says the administration was brought about by a disputed £400,000 dilapiclations claim on a former warehouse facility and then the loss of a warehousing and distribution contract. He says: "Unfortunately, the company that was due to re place them went into administration in August and attempts to find alternative business at such short notice was fruitless in the current economic climate."

Parkes says Trans Haul (Ulg's MD approached the pallet firm and informed it of the administration. Trans Haul (Europe) then applied for Pallet Track membership.

Parkes says: "After considering the situation carefully, we decided to accept Trans Haul (Europe), into the membership as a new member shareholder."

Trans Haul (Europe) will cover postcodes LU1 to LU7; LU95; WD3 to WD7; WD17 to WD19; and WD23 to WD25.
