• Bolton magistrates have adjourned a case , involving a Bolton owner-driver until midDecember, despite being told he was unlikely to be back in this country before the end of the year. Graham McGlynn, of Georgina Court, Bolton, pleaded not guilty to obstructing vehicle examiner Colin Waddilove in the execution of his duty by driving his vehicle away from a test station before an annual test was completed. But he pIeadecl guilty to causing the vehicle to be driven while it was the subject of a prohibition notice.

After the magistrates proposed adjourning the case, McGlynn said he was a driver on international work and couldn't say if he would be in the country again this year. After it was pointed out that he had charges to answer going back to May of this year, McGlynn said that earning a living was more important to him. Adjourning the proceedings until 17 December, the magistrates said McGlynn would have to be legally represented or attend. In September McGlynn's 0-licence was suspended when he failed to attend a reconvened public inquiry. He was given 28 days to produce evidence of his finance and maintenance.
