ARegulation 23 (la) of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1973, lays down that every passenger vehicle adapted to carry more than seven passengers, exclusive of the driver, and every goods vehicle (including dual-purpose vehicles) shall have at least two mirrors.

One may be fitted externally on the offside of the vehicle, and one internally. Alternatively, they may both be fitted externally — one on the offside and one on the nearside. It is suggested that you adopt the latter course, or you might prefer mirrors in all three positions.
