• Known as the Freightveyor, a mobile conveyor with a variable-height boom has been developed by Ling Systems Ltd, PO Box 4, Cromwell Road, St. Neot's, Hunts, that enables packages to be moved to any area of a van or container on a power-driven belt.

The boom is mounted on a wheeled frame that is manually propelled under the vehicle chassis to locate the conveyor over the body floor, the front of the boom being supported on legs equipped with rollers. Hydraulic operation of the two sections of the boom enable it to be raised and lowered a distance of 12ft. Having a nominal length of 30ft, the conveyor can be extended up to 10ft. Operated by an electric motor or by a diesel or petrol engine, the belt is reversible. It has a load capacity of 100lb per ft length.
